The Buccaneer 3D Printer Kickstarter

Pirate3D are creating a full 3D printing solution for home consumers and they want this technology to be available to everyone at a great and affordable price. That's why they've started their Kickstarter program.

Priced at only $397 USD the Buccaneer is built to be as easily set up with need to mess around with raw spools of plastic lying around as it is all integrated into the machine via cartridges. There are no unnecessary wires or parts that get in the way and every Buccaneer is fully set up and ready to go within minutes.

If you think this is a worthwhile champaign to pledge too like we do then go HERE to start creating fun!

3D Printed Custom Action Figure

Here's a new idea to create your own 3D printed custom action figure called Makie by MakieLab.

"MakieLab is a London-based toys and games company that's dedicated to creating "future-smashing" toys. What exactly that is, I'm not sure. The company's creations feature a rare level of customizability and detail in both the models and their clothing, not to mention realistic glossy eyes, a design choice some might deem creepy, but that I prefer to think of as awesome."

Using highly sophisticated 3D printers that bonds powdered plastic via lasers, so the print resolution is quite high, Makie let's you design figures using its online app, making it easy to customize the figure without too much effort. Each figure also has a hollow inside to allow intrepid hackers to insert electronics into the models. Here's a quick figure we made:

Each 10" figure is well articulated and comes in three shades of skin color and can choice your eye and hair color also. If you'd like to know more about or order your own Makie go HERE.

You Can Now Be A Stormtrooper Figurine

Disney's Hollywood Studios is offering visitors the chance to put your own face on a 3D printed Star Wars Stormtrooper as part of its annual Star Wars Weekends event.

Disney is using high quality single-shot technology to create the 3D rendering of you as a would-be Stormtrooper in just ten minutes. Those who take part will then receive a 7.5" model in the post roughly two months later.

Disney are also opening last year's Carbon-Freeze Me experience again, popping visitors into a carbonite freeze casket just like the one that trapped Han Solo. Both figure will start running during the weekends between May 17 through to June 9.
