Lego Announces Huge Ewok Village

Lego has announced another huge construction set as part of their long running Star Wars line. The Ewok Village will consists of the most vegetation in a Lego set with 4 trees that rotate, 17 mini-figs with 5 of them NEW and exclusive to the set and close to 2000 pieces!

The Door Is Always Open with Ten Minutes from Gary Baseman

Eric Minh Swenson takes an inspiring 10 minute look at Gary Baseman's first major museum exhibition of his life and work: "Gary Baseman: The Door Is Always Open".

From the Skirball Cultural Center, Gary "explores the influences of Baseman's Jewish family heritage and American popular culture on his exuberant, boundary-defying art." If you're fan of Gary's work or just art in general then take a look at this short.

Garbage Pail Kids MiniKins Promotional Teaser

A teaser video featuring the upcoming Garbage Pail Kids MiniKins by Topps has surfaced today. The images of painted, rubber mini figures that will come in multi-packs, and will also feature unpainted monochromatic chase figures which are a nod to the classic Garbage Pail Kids Cheap Toys figures. 

Now there's nothing new about what's in this video as it's now all on the net but it is nice to see it all again but we have those grouse kids in our hot little hands in October.

Sekure D's Awesome AM90 Nike Mural.

The Australian customising movement is only just getting started but not for Sekure D who was invited by Nike Australia to come down to their HQ in Melbourne and paint up a storm of an AM90 Mural on canvas for an upcoming conference. 

Due to safety regulations concerns Sekure could only use spray paint on the initial stages of the background after which the rest of the mural was then continued by hand with the finishing touches done infront of the conference crowd over a couple of hours.

We're lucky enough to have the timelapse video to show how much work went into this totally rad piece of art.

The result of this awesome piece is stunning with vibrant background colors helping the Nike AM90 pop as the feature. The opening sequence of James Bond movie Casino Royale has been recreated using LEGO.

Reddit user Duncanmcconchie created the video in only two weekends which is amaing considering the quality. It has since picked up almost half a million views on YouTube in just two days.

Video: David Horvath gives Thrash Lab an Ugly Doll

Thrash Lab in collaboration with Giant Robot are producing a series called "Profiles", which looks at the ideas and lives of creators/artists with Uglydoll creator David Horvath the next up in this series. From a simple character drawing in a letter margin by David Horvath to his now wife, Sun-Min Kim, Uglydoll was born around 10 years ago. 

In this video Thrash Lab reveal how Uglydoll began at a single idea and now the toy has evolved so large that you can find them at Toys"R"Us.
